Is it save to plug electronics into a higher amperage?

I have a monitor which I can’t find the power adapter to, so I used one from another piece of electronics I have.

They are both 12v adapters but this one has a higher amperage than the missing one.

Is this safe? It seems to work OK.
Sorry about the typo in the title,

The adapter is 4.16 amp the monitor is 3.5 amp.

Why does Amazon in Canada not sell consumer electronics like the american site does?
